Double Wall Condenser Coils

  • Compact helical design with counterflow fluids for optimum heat transfer
  • Five models (1 to 3 ton sizes) to recover total heat rejected from air conditioning, refrigeration or heat pump systems
  • Double-wall inner tube provides isolation of refrigerant from water
  • Both U.L. and C.S.A approved for potable water use
  • Removes heat from the refrigerant discharge vapor
  • Employs "tube-in-tube" design

The Packless CDAX series of coaxial condensers are designed specifically to remove heat from the refrigerant discharge vapor of air conditioning, refrigeration, or heat pump systems for the purpose of heating potable water.

The CDAX series employs a "tube-in-tube" design. Potable water flows inside a double-wall convoluted copper tube in a counterflow direction to the refrigerant vapor flowing in the annulus between the convoluted tubing and the smooth outer steel tube, called the shell. This counterflow path provides the greatest temperature difference between the two fluids to yield optimum heat transfer.

The CDAX series employs a "tube-in-tube" design.

The CDAX series utilizes nested double-wall convoluted tubes having multiple leads. The double-wall isolates the refrigerant from the water to prevent contamination of the water in case of a leak in the convoluted tubing. The convolutions impart turbulence to both the water and the refrigerant flows, while offering all prime surface for maximum heat transfer area with minimum heat exchanger size.

Packless CDAX series double wall condensers are constructed in a compact helical design.

Packless double wall condenser coils are approved by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (U.L.) and the Canadian Standards Association (C.S.A.) for use with potable water and the following refrigerants:

R12 R134A R402B R407C R410B R508
R22 R401A R404A R408A R412A R509
R23 R401B R407A R409A R502
R125 R402A R407B R410A R507

Maximum working pressures are 400 psig on the water side and 650 psig on the refrigerant side.
